Having grown up in Central New York I have always been a Syracuse University fan. When I moved to New Jersey in the late 80s I started to root for Princeton as well. This worked out well since you could always count on either SU or Princeton to win a National Lacrosse Championship.
However, recently I started attending Rutgers University Lacrosse games. Last year I only was able to attend the Syracuse game. The game went into double overtime (I think) and it was one of the first nice days of the spring (it is so much nicer to watch a game outside at Yurcak Field rather than in the Dome). I had plans to go to more but life kind of got in the way.
This year I vowed to make more of attempt to get to more games. I also wanted to get some of my friends to attend the games with me. I got to see 4 games (Princeton, Loyola, Penn State, Army and Mass) this year but I attended everyone by myself. Maybe next year.
Rutgers finished the 2007 season 7 -6. The Princeton and Loyola games were blowouts (Rutgers won over Loyola) and the rest were close. A win on the road at Georgetown might have got them into the NCAA Tourney.
I predict that next year Rutgers Lacrosse get a bracket and maybe even compete for the championship.
